Week 9 football preview

Keota and Stigler will try to make sure they do not slip against teams with worse records as they look for wins to secure desired playoff positions. Meanwhile, Porum returns home for an attempt to save its playoff hopes. Quinton is off this week since Hilldale JV canceled the game that was scheduled for Thursday. Here's a look at the Week 9 slate.

Stigler (6-2, 1-2 District 3A-8) at Heavener (0-8, 0-3 District 3A-8) 7 p.m.

He ran for 230 last year against the Wolves. The Panthers must win in order to keep up hopes of playing for a second-place finish in the district. Stigler players returning from injury following the bye week include wide receiver Mason Peery and offensive lineman Keaton Shaffer. Stigler quarterback Bryce Turrentine has thrown for 1,235 yards with a 59 percent completion rate.

The Lions have eased sophomore quarterback Cash Long into more playing time. This is Keota's senior night. The senior night ceremony is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m.

Porum (2-5, 0-3 District B-8) vs. Cave Springs (4-4, 2-1 District B-8) 7 p.m.
