Stigler softball sent to Sequoyah Tahlequah regional

Stigler softball will play Class 3A regionals at Sequoyah Tahlequah, starting on Thursday. The Panthers (21-9) face 19th-ranked Lincoln Christian (27-9) in the first round at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Christian is 6-6 against ranked teams and 7-5 against Class 3A opponents. Stigler is 3-5 against ranked foes. The other first-round game is between top-ranked Sequoyah Tahlequah (31-6) and Beggs (18-13) at 12 p.m. on Thursday.

The first-round losers play each other at 4 p.m. The first-round winners face off at 6 p.m. that evening.

Stigler beat Eufaula in two games for the district title on Thursday, Sept. 21.
