Stigler, Keota hoops to tip off

Stigler and Keota's basketball teams start their seasons on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Stigler's boys basketball team has an almost entirely new rotation and a new head coach, Wes Cloud, to follow a 2015-16 team that finished 8-16 last season and won districts. Stigler's girls team, led by coach Jeff Walker, return all of its players from 2015-16, when the Panthers went 13-12. Below is the slate for the first night of area hoops after Thanksgiving break.

David Sanders, who has 44 years of coaching experience and won three state girls basketball titles at Cheyenne (1985-87) and three at Stigler (1990, 1991, 1995), takes over Keota. Keota's girls won districts before finishing 15-10 while the boys team went 13-9.

All girls games will start at 6:30 p.m. and boys games will begin at 8 p.m.
