Stigler hosts Talihina, tourney play in Quinton and Porum

Stigler returns home for what will be a major challenge for the boys team, which is off to its best start in recent years. Meanwhile, the Quinton Farmers State Bank tips off while the girls' second round in the Porum Armstrong Bank Tournament takes place today. Here's a look at the area schedule.

Stigler vs. Talihina

Girls: Panthers (1-1) vs. Tigers (1-0) 6:30 p.m.

Last meeting: Stigler 51, Talihina 35 (Jan. 24, 2017)

Notes: Stigler won both meetings with Talihina by more than 15 points in 2016-17. The Panthers have won all six games against the Tigers through the past three seasons.

Boys: Panthers (2-0) vs. Tigers (1-0, ranked fourth in Class 2A) 8 p.m.

Last meeting: Talihina 62, Stigler 30 (Jan. 24, 2017)

Notes: Stigler lost both games against Talihina last season. Jaxon Calhoun scored 30 points in Stigler's first two games.

Quinton at FSB Hardwood Classic

Quinton girls (2-1) vs. Caddo (4-1, ranked 20th in Class 2A) 4 p.m.

Last meeting: Quinton 45, Caddo 36 (Dec. 9, 2016)

Notes: Quinton's win against Caddo last year came in the semifinals of the FSB Hardwood Classic.

Quinton boys (2-1) vs. Warner (1-2) 5:30 p.m.

Last meeting: Quinton 44, Warner 36 (Jan. 21, 2017)

Notes: Quinton and Warner split their two meetings last year.

Porum Armstrong Bank Tournament

McCurtain girls (4-4) vs. Cave Springs (1-1) 5:50 p.m.

Notes: McCurtain had two players scoring double digits in its first-round loss to Canadian on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are averaging 49 points per game. Cave Springs scored 48 points in each of its first two games.

Porum (3-1) vs. Canadian (1-1) 8:30 p.m.

Last meeting: Porum 53, Canadian 30 (Jan. 26, 2017)

Notes: Each of Porum's three wins have been within 10 points. Canadian had three players scoring double digits against McCurtain in the first round.
