Stigler football opens at home, more area sports

Stigler football opens its season tonight at home against Westville in Week 0 action, looking to come back strong following up the state quarterfinal run last year. The Panthers beat the Yellowjackets 50-34 on the road in the 2016 opener, their first of six 50-point performances that season. Aside from tackle Kelby Self, who will be cleared to play next week after recovering from elbow surgery in May, Stigler enters the season healthy.
