Shrimp bait and more in midsummer fishing at area lakes

Below are the weekly fishing reports for Lake Eufaula and the Robert S. Kerr Reservoir. Both were submitted on Sunday.

Lake Eufaula

Elevation: Normal

Water temperature and clarity: Normal and murky

Striped bass, white bass, striped hybrid: Action is good with hair jigs and live shad below the dam.

Blue catfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish: Action is good with cut bait and shad around the main lake and river channel.

White crappie and black crappie: Action is fair with jigs and minnows around docks and standing timber.

Kerr Reservoir

Elevation: Normal

Water clarity: Muddy

Blue catfish: Action is good with shad and shrimp baits near riprap and rocks.

White crappie: Action is fair with jigs and minnows near standing timber and the river channel.

Largemouth bass: Action is excellent with spinner baits and jigs around brush structure, standing timber, the river channel and the river mouth.
