Second Round Football Preview: Keota vs. Maysville

Keota looks to assert its defensive primacy tonight as it kicks off the second-round playoff game at home against Maysville at 7:30 p.m. Maysville (7-4) upended Canadian 66-52 on Nov. 10 in the first round, gaining a 30-point lead in the second half. Keota (8-3) allowed South Coffeyville only two big plays in a 50-12 first round win on Nov. 10. Keota, which is seventh in Class B in scoring defense, has allowed 12 or fewer points six times, including three shutouts.

While Maysville has scored 50 or more points three times, the Warriors have been held to fewer than 10 points three times. Keota has collected three sacks six times and also recovered at least four fumbles four times.

Kaleb Heffner leads Keota with 79 tackles. Keelyn Parker has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season. This is the first meeting between Keota and Maysville in football.

If triumphant, Keota would host the Carnegie-Shattuck winner on Nov. 24.
