Quinton vs. Talihina football canceled

Quinton's home football game tomorrow against Talihina has been canceled. Quinton Public Schools Superintendent Stacey Henderson said on the school's Facebook page that it resulted from the team having too few healthy players. During the Quinton school board special meeting on Monday, Quinton High School Principal Dane Lemons said the team finished its Sept. 22 game at Sallisaw Central with 14 healthy players.

The game counts as a forfeit loss for Quinton, putting the Savages at 0-5 and 0-2 in District A-8 play. Quinton is scheduled to play at Savanna on Oct. 6.
