Previewing Week 4 football

Stigler football hits the road this week in hopes of fixing its defense while extending its run of success against Haskell. Keota meets a major challenge at home against Depew, a top-five Class B team. Porum also faces a test at home against Wetumka, another unbeaten team among the top 10. Here's a look at games this week.

Stigler (4-0) at Haskell (4-0) 7 p.m.

Last meeting: Stigler 56, 12 (Sept. 23, 2016)

Points scored-allowed: Stigler: 178-82; Haskell: 123-50

Notes: Stigler running back Garret Brooks has run 1,024 yards this season. He racked up more than 180 yards in each of the past nine games. The Panthers have won their last five games against the Haymakers.

Keota (2-1) vs. Depew (3-0) 7 p.m.

Last meeting: Depew 46, Keota 38 (Sept. 23, 2016)

Points scored-allowed: Keota 134-78; Depew 166-52.

Notes: After being out for Week 2, Keota running back Keelyn Parker ran for 199 yards in the 68-20 win at Webbers Falls on Sept. 15. Depew's Steven Quinones has 682 yards rushing this season.

Quinton (0-3) at Sallisaw Central (0-3) 7 p.m.

Last meeting: Quinton 40, Sallisaw Central 13 (Sept. 23, 2016)

Points scored-allowed: 24-116; 94-154.

Notes: Quinton quarterback Garrett Lemons totaled 148 yards (81 rushing, 67 passing) in the 40-0 loss to Konawa on Sept. 15. Briar Needham leads the Savages with 37 tackles, including 11 last week.

Porum (1-1) vs. Wetumka (3-0) 7 p.m.

Last meeting: Wetumka 58, Porum 8 (Sept. 23, 2016)

Points scored-allowed: Porum: 74-70; Wetumka: 142-40.

Notes: Wetumka has beaten Porum the past five years. Porum hopes to contend with the Chieftains with its top lineman, Colton Morton, out due to injury.
