Keota Lions win in big season opener

The Keota Lions boys and girls teams each took home two big wins in their season opener against the Bokoshe Tigers on Dec. 3. 

The girls started the night off right with a 47-32 win against the Lady Tigers. 

Javen Christenberry led the team with 13 points, Lexi McClary had nine points,  Allie Carry had six points with an incredible 10 rebounds. Jolie Christenberry and Bailey Bennett each had five points, and Makadyn Dominquez and Kymra Dillard each had four points. 

The Lions boys team won 49-48 in a buzzer-beater against the Tigers. Cash Long had a standout night as the team leader in points scored with 19 points on the night. He was closely followed by Trenton Followill with 14 points, Jance Welch with seven points, Edward Simons had four points, and Cordell Ramsey had three points. 

The Lions will face the Cameron Yellow Jackets in a home game battle on Dec. 5. The girls will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys game.
