Yvonne Campbell

Yvonne Hodges Campbell was born Feb. 7, 1930, in Waynoka to Clifford and Mary Frances Hodges (Carpenter). She passed away on Oct. 25, 2017, in Tahlequah at the age of 87.
Yvonne graduated with honors from both Stigler High School and Northeastern State University. She then enlisted in the Air Corps in 1950 at Fort Smith, Ark. and served as a cryptographer, both stateside and overseas. While in the service, she met and married her husband, Thomas Campbell, in 1956. Yvonne was proud of the six years she served in the military and often talked about her experiences and travels. Her passions were genealogy, quilts and cats. Extremely smart, she had a thirst for learning. She loved to travel and read.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Mary Frances Hodges; her husband, Thomas Campbell; her son, Jason Campbell; and her great-grandson, Jason Bentley Roberts.
She is survived by three daughters, Julia Campbell of Napa, Calif., Jennifer Campbell and husband, Don, of Williamsburg, Va., Joscelyn Cates and husband, Mike, of Tahlequah; a sister, Barbara Cobb and husband, Al, of Whitefield; brother, James Hodges and wife, Doris, of Quinby, S.C.; four grandchildren, Michael Cates, Allison Howser, Justin Cates and Sean Roberts.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Mountain Home Cemetery in Whitefield with Al Cobb officiating. Burial followed at Mountain Home Cemetery.
Services entrusted to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.
