Wreka ‘Jerrie’ Murphy

Wreka “Jerrie” (McKinney) Murphy was born in Oilton, on Dec. 13, 1920, to Jodie and Arva (Robinson) McKinney. She passed away on Dec. 20, 2019, in Tulsa, at the age of 99.

She is survived by her sister, Tula Pearce of Muskogee; her daughters, Ann Elkins of Broken Arrow and Kellie Sinner and husband, Scott, of Roseville, Calif; her son, Howard Franklin Murphy of Roseville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jeff Elkins and wife, Jane, of Tulsa, Linda Younger and husband, Steve, of Tulsa, Taylor Lechner and husband, Eric, of Zurich Switzerland and Brooke Tostenson and husband, Will, of Fayetteville, N.C.; five great grandchildren, Elyse Bonifassi and husband, Oscar, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Emily Gilliam and husband, Seth, of Gladstone, Mo., Elizabeth Elkins of Chicago, Ill., Steven Younger of Tulsa and Nicole Younger of Tulsa,; three great-great grandchildren, Ruby Gilliam of Gladstone, Mo., Noah Gilliam of Gladstone, Mo. and Jefferey Bonifassi of Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Jerrie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Murphy; her parents, Jodi and Arva McKinney; her brothers, Lloyd “Dude” McKinney and J.C. McKinney; her sisters, Alice Phillips and Hazel Janeway; and her son-in-law, Ray Elkins.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at The Cross Church in Porum with Pastor Scott Sinner officiating. Interment will follow at Brooken Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Elkins, Oscar Bonifassi, Seth Gilliam, Steve Younger, Steven Younger and Bob Pilgrim.
