William Parsons

William O. Parsons of Tamaha was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Stigler to John Henry and Grace Marie (Hays) Parsons and passed away Sept. 29, 2016, in Muskogee at the age of 86.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Parsons and wife Mayela of Tamaha and John Parsons and wife Tina of Tamaha; two sisters, Noretta Livesay of Stigler and Venita Vinzant of Muskogee; six grandchildren, Kirsti Parsons, John Henry Parsons and wife Kasey, Abigail Parsons, Caleb Parsons, Jessika Nolen and Makayla Nolen; three great-grandchildren, Jerzi Belle Nolen, Carter Layne Parsons and Easton Kaze Nolen.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Polly Ruth Parsons; six sisters, Ruby Parsons Stout, Thelma Parsons Phillips, beloved Iona Parsons Forrest, Mary Parsons Scates, Geneva Parsons Johnson, Naomi Parsons Henslee; one grandson, Gordon James Parsons.
Services were held Oct. 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Stigler with Bro. Greg Parsons and the Rev. Daniel Milligan officiating. Burial followed at Tamaha Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Fred Wegert, Todd Livesay, Todd Schwier, Larry Hays, Jerry Hays, Sam Walker, Mike Walker, Billy Gorby, Jarred Christenberry, Marky Christenberry and Brandon Christenberry. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Bender, Jerald Brown, Kenneth Brown, Mike Scantlen, Ronnie Edwards, Tommy Barnes, Jim Harrell and Lewis Brigance.
