Wayne King, 77, of Stigler, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his home. He was born Nov. 21, 1942, in Lequire, to Vanis James and Mercedes Mae (Amos) King. 

Wayne grew up in the Rose Hill Community. He made his home in California in the early 1960s. He met the love of his life, Miss Sandra Spessard and they were married on July 1, 1961, and made their home in the Bay area until 1972. They returned home where Wayne began his working career as a truck driver for the last 40 plus years. He loved his church, his church family and his friends. He adored his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by the love of his life, of 58 years, Sandy King of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Howard Eaton of Stigler; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Teresa King of Stigler; two grandsons and spouse, Roger and Alli Thompson of Atoka and Brooks King of Stigler; three great-grandsons, Lariat and Riggin Thompson and Lane Woodall of Stigler; four great-granddaughters, Lanie, Abbie, Emlie and Rylie of Atoka; two sisters, Pat Percifield of Rose Hill and Sandy Poteet of Stigler; special granddaughter, Amber Woodall and fiancé Merv Wallis of Stigler and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Vanis and Mercedes King.

Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Shiloh Assembly of God Church in Enterprise with Pastor Rick McElyea officiating. Pallbearers included Bill Adcock, Denver Bowen, Rick Bumpers, Jeff Oaks, Mike Hunt and Jerry Guy Poteet. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny McMahan, Leon Woodruff, Boyd King, Jerry Kirkland, James Percifield and Kevin Henson.

Burial will follow in Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
