Virginia Harris

Virginia Katherine (Bean) Harris was born in Stigler, Okla. on Jan. 17, 1937, to Roy Leon and Katherine (Pertuch) Bean. She passed away in Fort Smith, Ark. on Aug. 2, 2021, at the age of 84.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Haskins and husband, Ray, of Keota, Okla., Bonnie Moody of Keota, Okla., Leroy Harris and wife, Sally, of Arkoma, Okla. and Melissa Harris of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Mayetta Payton of Kearny, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William R. Harris; one daughter, Vanessa Harris; two grandchildren, Melinda and Jerry Haskins; her parents, Roy and Katherine Bean; one brother, Wayne Bean; and one sister, Helen Smith.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7; and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8.

Graveside services were held at Keota City Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, with Bro. Tommie Parker officiating. Interment was under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were Ray Haskins, Jr., Dawayne Darland, Kyle Freeman, Dillion Harris, Leroy Harris and Farrell Dewayne White, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Kelly Haskins, Ray Haskins, Sr., Isiah Solomon, Tyrese Solomon, Robert Darland, Cornelius Hayes and Davon Solomon.
