Vern Shepperd

Vern Dean Shepperd was born in Binger, on Aug.21, 1932, to Rosco and Geneva Maxine (Howe) Shepperd. He passed away in Shawnee, on Jan. 27, 2020, at the age of 87.

He is survived by, his wife, Barbara, of the home; his daughters,Tracey Pitts of Oklahoma City and (stepdaughter) Donna Reavis and husband, David, of Stigler,  his sons, Jeffery Shepperd and wife, Veronica, of Minco and (stepson) Jeffry Bean and wife, Tammy, of Greenwood, Ark.; his sisters, Joyce Hacker of Oklahoma City and Zelma McMahan of Minco; his brothers, Jerry Shepperd and wife, Wanda, of Longtown, Larry Shepperd and wife, Helena, of Minco and  Don Shepperd and wife, Earlene, of Mustang and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vern was preceded in death by a wife, Carolyn (Locke) Shepperd; one brother, Eugene Shepperd; two sisters, Anneitta Brown and Connie McFarland; and his daughter, Rhonda Willmon.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at Whitefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommie Parker and the Rev. Gary Caldwell officiating. Committal will be at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers will be Jared Shepperd, James Eric Jones, Daniel Turner, Marc Broomfield, Jay Broomfield, Jeremy Reavis and Joshua Reavis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Whitefield Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.
