Terry Don Finney was born in Hoyt, Okla. on Oct. 5, 1954, to Thomas Boyd “Slim” and Aleta “Faye” (Parks) Finney. Terry passed away in Muskogee, Okla. on July 19, 2021, at the age of 66. He was raised in Stigler Okla. and was a 1973 graduate of Stigler High School.

Terry Finney was a very impactful, loyal and compassionate man who loved his family fiercely. He got his daily charge from watching any and all types of sports, but was an avid football fan. In his younger years he was an all-around athlete, being active in baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, track, weight lifting, boxing and golf. He was proud of his athletic abilities and often shared memories of his coaches and how they had influenced him. Oh, the Stigler stories he could tell!

Terry is survived by his wife, Julie, the love of his life for 38 years; one daughter, Terah Finney and son-in-law, Jonathan Jackson, of Muskogee, Okla.; one sister, Marcy and husband, Nathan Price, of Foyil, Okla.; very special brother/friend, Dale and Lora Bray of “Perry Loop,” Stigler, Okla.; and loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by his daytime companion, Princess SuperNova.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Slim Finney; sister, Myra Kay Finney; mother, Faye Finney; and special companion, GSD, Major GusFinn.

Funeral services were held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, with Bro. Tommie Parker officiating. Interment at Antioch Cemetery was under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Jackson, Scott Foster, Dale Bray, Jack Bray, Josh Bray, Nathan Price and Cody Quetone.
