Tammy Girty

Tammy Lee Girty was born in Checotah on May 18, 1962. She passed away on Nov. 24, 2018, in Tahlequah, surrounded by her family. Tammy loved children and children loved her; throughout her life she cared for and nurtured countless children. Tammy was adored by her sons, daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her mother, Zelma Berry of Porum; brothers, Mitchell Girty of Porum, Landon Berry and wife, Twila, of Haskell and Albert “Boy” Girty of Warner; sisters, Deborah Berry of Porum, Julia Jones and husband, Steve, of Porum, Georgia Justice of Rogers, Ark., Doree Girty of Warner, Rachel Girty of Muldrow and Kim Girty of Aurora, Ill.; sons, Michael Wiggins and wife, Angela, of Tahlequah and Cody Pongerayter of Porum; daughters, Mandy Gutierrez and husband, Ben, of Muskogee, Brandi Blackwood and husband, John, of Porum, Bridgett Lozier and husband, Andy, of Lake Charles, La., Melissa Wiggins of Cleveland and  Dawn Boston of Porum; grandchildren, Savannah Wiggins, Sierra Wiggins, Aidan Armstrong, Gianna Armstrong, Taryn Armstrong, Samantha Gutierrez, Seth Blackwood, Christian Blackwood, Levi Lozier, Bailey Lozier, Kadge Moore, Pressley Moore, Paisley Moore, Tobias Whitson, Joshua Boston, Kadden Boston and Abigail Boston and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Girty; sister, Geneva Girty and granddaughter, Camryn Lozier.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at the Oak Grove Church in Webbers Falls with the Rev. Henry Birdtail officiating. Interment will follow at the Cramp Cemetery in Porum under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Webbers Falls.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Bradon Berry, Briley Berry, Lucas Lawless, Aidan Armstrong, J.R. Girty, Harley Girty, Ethan Girty and Anthony Padgett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maverick Padgett, Stephen Padgett and Steve Jones.
