Sue Everett

Sue Everett, 72, of Keota, passed away June 30, 2017, at Peachtree Hospice-Sparks in Ft. Smith, Ark. She was born May 13, 1945, in Poteau to Oscar and Josie (Smith) Shropshire.
She’ll be remembered as a lady who was always smiling, but had a wicked stare when irritated. Sue loved going anywhere, you couldn’t start the car without her in it. She worked for Choctaw Nation Casino as a custodian. She was a simple woman, but had her squirrel moments. She was beloved by all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her five children, Cecelia Stokes and husband Thomas, Oscar Everett and wife Sue, Patty Luna and husband Frank, Michelle Harmon and husband James, and Nathan Everett and wife April; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three  step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; six siblings, Billie Maxwell and husband Bob, Butch Shropshire and wife Sherry, Patty Brooks and husband David, David Shropshire and wife Karen, Oscar Shropshire and wife Kim, and Brad Shropshire and wife Judy; and a sister-in-law, Lorreta Shropshire.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Joise Shropshire; her husband, Edgar G. Everett; and two siblings, Kenneth Shropshire and Betty Jo Roberts.
Direct cremation was under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
