Stanford L. Strain, Sr.

Stanford L. Strain Sr. was born to Bill and Rena (Roberts) Strain on March 6, 1947, at Featherston. He took his journey home to live with Jesus on Saturday, July 8, 2017, surrounded by his family, at the age of 70.
Stanford graduated from Quinton High School. Stanford married the love of his life, Judy (Mills) Strain on July 30, 1965. They have three children, Stanford L. Strain Jr, Bradford W. Strain and Julie L. (Strain) Pryor.
Stanford retired from driving big trucks and working construction in 2008 to spend time with his family and take care of their home.
Stanford is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Strain of the home; his two sons, Stanford L. Strain Jr and wife Lizzie of Quinton and Bradford W. Strain and wife Shelly of Enterprise; his daughter, Julie L. Strain-Pryor and husband, Dewayne of Quinton; nine grandchildren, Chris Strain, Cassandra Strain, David Strain, Clintford Strain, Ty Strain, Jake Pryor, Hannah Meek, Dillon Pryor and Bradley Strain; nine great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Kolton, Bentleigh, Landon, Claire, Haddie, Chloe, Haidyn and Lincoln (who is on the way); a brother Jim and Carol Strain of Jones; a half-brother, Kenneth Strain of McAlester; a sister, Joetta Strain of Moore; a half-sister, Laverne Caudill of McAlester; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Standford was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Rena Strain; his step-mother Katy Strain; sisters, Lida Pearl Strain, Nellie Smith, Tootsie Spears, and Shirley Cooke; brothers, Lanford, Wenford, Bill, TJ and Lenford (Tubby).
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Enterprise Baptist Church with Reverend Don Duvall officiating.
Pallbearers included Terry Strain, Butch Strain, Shane Strain, Johnny Wagnon, David Pryor and Coy Mike Few. Honorary pallbearers included Jimmy Booth, Mike Ward, Josh Taylor, Tommy Alverson, Scott Eakle and Joe Long.
Burial followed immediately to West Liberty Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
