Solomon ‘Jim’ Morris, Jr.

Solomon James “Jim” Morris, Jr. was born in Tahlequah, on March 28, 1943. He passed away in Fort Smith, Ark. on Feb. 5, 2020, at the age of 76.

He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Morris-Mutz and husband, Luke, of Alex, Valerie Tom, of California; his sons, Samuel Morris of Moore, Scott Morris of Cass, Stacy Morris and wife, Rockell, of Stigler and Brandon Tom of Keota; his brother,Glenn Morris of Cass and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Solomon was preceded in death by his mother, Zalmer; his sister, Phyllis Wilson; his son, Solomon Morris, III; his daughter Betty Jean Morris, II; and his brother, Nathan Morris.

Solomon was a graduate of Stigler High School and served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam. He worked many years as a print tech for Stigler News-Sentinel. He was an avid OU fan and was proud of his heritage and loved his family.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on March 28, 2020, at Cass Freewill Baptist Church.
