Ruby Colston

Ruby Marie Colston, 75, of Quinton, passed away on Sept. 12, 2016. Ruby was born on Nov. 5, 1939, in Quinton to George Edward and Florine Beulah (Stephens) Morris.
She attended Quinton Public Schools.
On Oct. 13, 1957, Ruby married Bob Elmore Colston, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2010. They were happily married for 52 years. She earned a certificate as a non-technical medical care aide from the Department of Institutions Social and Rehabilitation Services on Nov. 27, 1979. Ruby worked as a Developmental Disabled Certified Aid.
She worked at the sewing factory in Wilburton for over 17 years before retiring in 2007.
Ruby loved to cook, fish, clean, spending time with family, and going to church. She made the best fried potatoes.
She is survived by her sons, Elmer Glenn Colston and wife Lisa of Quinton, Lonnie Joe Colston and wife Regina of Durant; daughter, Patsy Leatrish Lester and husband Gerald of Eufaula; sisters, Anna Powers and husband Bob of Enterprise, Elzada Parker of Enterprise, Sue Cook of Haileyville; brothers-in-law, Jerry Ary of Quinton and Tom Colston and wife Mariland of Stigler; sister-in-law, Judith Morris of Holdenville; eight grandchildren, Donna Colston Formingo and husband Gil, Elesa Phillips and husband Kevin, Terry Colston, Richard Rea and wife Tiera, Miranda Rea Boyd and husband Morgan, Lonnie Colston II and wife Kim, Robert Colston and Adam Barnes; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Colston; son, Robert Lee Colston; parents, George and Florine Morris; sister, Beulah Ary; two brothers, Wilburn Morris and Sammy Morris; and granddaughter, Crystal Barnes.
Services were held Sept. 19 at the Jesus Name Church in Quinton with the Reverends Donnie Taylor, George Mantooth and Wilma Jo Mahan officiating. Burial followed at Quinton Cemetery under the direction of Hunn & Black Funeral Home.
