Rosie Jane Toney of Porum was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Mt. Magazine, Ark., to Ezekial and Johnnie Mae (Carpenter) Truett. She passed away on June 30, 2018 in Stigler, Oklahoma at the age of 88.
She is survived by daughters, Caroline Turrentine of Porum, Marcey Shamblin and husband, Charlie, of Webbers Falls, Gayle Terrell of Porum, Patricia Spears and husband, Mickey, of Gore, Dwona Hayes and husband, Paul, of Porum, Janie Girty and husband, Tony, of Porum; sons, David Hendrix of Porum, Cecil Toney, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Porum; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Bonnie Truett and wife, Diane, of Vian; sister, Wanda Edwards and husband, Kenny, of Vian; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekial and Johnnie Mae Truett; her husband, Cecil Toney, Sr.; brothers, Leonard, Hubert and Bob; and sisters, Eoline, Nellie and Berniece.
She was a Christian and loved spending time with her family and her dogs.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Porum First Baptist Church in Porum with Rodney Coleman officiating. Burial followed at Coleman Cemetery in Porum.
Pallbearers were James Wright, Jarren Terrell, Justin McDaniel, Tanner Girty, John Hearitige, Sr. and John Hearitige, Jr.
Viewing was Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mallory Chapel in Porum.
