Rose Lou Westbrook

Rose Lou Westbrook, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, in Oklahoma City. Rose was born on June 3, 1934, in Kinta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Edward and Leby Mae (Lentz) Watson.  She graduated from Kinta High School in 1953 and attended Oklahoma Business College. On August 20, 1971, Rose married Josh Lee Westbrook.  They were happily married for thirty-three years.  Josh preceded her in death on August 30, 2004. She worked at Farmer’s State Bank in Quinton. Rose lived in Quinton until the mid 1970s when she moved to Muskogee. Rose then opened Campus Casuals clothing store in the late 1970s in Wilburton and later moved it to Warner.  She later worked at Dillard’s Department Store in Muskogee. Rose was a lifelong Sooner sports fan.

Survivors include her son, Steve Watson, of Moore, granddaughter, Amber Mangan and husband Matt of Arcadia,  great grandson, Maddox Mangan and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Josh, sister, Helen Davis, brothers John, Leon, Reo and Floy “White” Watson, and a stepson, Josh Elmer Westbrook.  

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with Reverend Bill Fitzer officiating. She will be eulogized by her nephew Johnny Watson.
