Ronald Scroggins

Ronald Glen Scroggins, 68, of Stigler, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Gore Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 22, 1950, in Lindsey to Douglas and Delphine (Falline) Scroggins.

Ron grew up and attended school in Lindsey and Stigler, where he graduated from Stigler High School with the Class of 1969. He served his country in the National Guard. Ron began a career as a Shelter Insurance Agent that spanned some 30 plus years in Stigler. He loved golf, trap shooting and enjoyed watching grandkid’s ballgames.

Ron is survived by his stepdaughter, Dana McClary of Tulsa; his stepson,  Kevin McClary and wife, Melanie, of Stigler; his grandchildren, Hunter McClary and wife, Toni, Lake and Ridge McClary, Britnee Blankenship and husband, Chuck; great-grandchildren, Chandler, Kynli and MacKenna Blankenship, Raylynn and Beckett McClary; two nieces, Donna Kate Scroggins Roberts of Midwest City and Sheri Dawn Scroggins Owens of Newalla.

Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Delois Scroggins; his parents, Douglas and Delphine Scroggins and his brother, Norman “Butch” Scroggins.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, in the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don McAlvain officiating. Pallbearers included Kerry Lowe, Carl Godfrey, Ed Shepherd, John Jones, Gary Dunn and Dennis Patton. Honorary pallbearers included Jerry Holt, Larry Hall and Ernie Parks.

Burial followed in Stigler Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
