Robert Callaway

Robert Joe Callaway was born on Feb. 12, 1950, in Shawnee, Okla. to Travis Marion and Minnie Daisy (Brock) Callaway. He passed away on March 8, 2021, in Stigler, Okla. at the age of 71.

He graduated from Midwest City High School in May 1968. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 and served until 1973. Bob and Janet Jeaneen Arnold were married on June 18, 1971, at Country Estates Baptist Church in Midwest City, Okla.

Bob worked for Monarch Marking Systems from 1976 to 1980. He worked for Diebold, Inc. repairing various banking systems from 1980 to 1985.

He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College from 1985 to 1987, finishing with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Bob worked for the United States Postal Service from October 1985 until he retired in February 2009.

Bob loved hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, watching Dallas Cowboys and OSU Cowboys, but most of all, he loved his wife, two sons and five grandchildren.

He passed away on March 8, 2021, and leaves behind his wife, Janet, of the home; two sons, Brian Callaway and wife, Leandra, of Guthrie, Okla. and Scott Callaway and wife, Jennifer, of Land O’Lakes, Fla.; five grandchildren, Cobi, Mason, Logan, Preslee and Chandler; three brothers, John, Tom and Randy; one sister, Rose; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Minnie Callaway; his infant granddaughter, Kaylon; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Palestine Community Church with John Callaway, Randy Callaway, Cardell Johnson and Charles Woodridge officiating.
