Richard Thompson

Richard Lee Thompson, 82, of Stigler, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at Haskell County
Nursing center. He was born on March 7, 1935, in Henryetta to Elmer Few and Audra Thompson.
He grew up in the Sandridge area. Richard served his country with the United States Navy. He lived many years at Collinsville where he served as a Police Officer and several other jobs during a career that spanned thirty years until his retirement. He married Mary Beard on June 29, 1996, and made their home on Beaver Mountain and served as Pastor for House of Faith. He loved camping, fishing, diving, and everything outdoors. He loved his family and church family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Thompson of the home; his children, Timothy Thompson of Oklahoma City, Sharon Kohwee of Collinsville, Sondra Thompson of Oklahoma City; his stepchildren, Darlene and Jerry Smith of Pensacola, Clifton Wayne and Patty Beard of Catoosa, Charlotte and Curtis Mayhall of Inola, Helen and Dennis Capehart of Catoosa, Eva and Jackie Priest of Broken Arrow; 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Patsy Hulvert of Ohio, Lylonna Burch of Hawaii.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Audra Few; two sons, Randy Thompson and Boyd Beard.
Services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 5 at House of Faith on Beaver Mountain with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Eulogist, the Rev. Connie Thornton. Burial will follow immediately to Mountain Home Cemetery at Beaver Mountain under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Beard, Jackie Priest, Curtis Mayhall, Dennis Capehart, Jerry Smith and Beau Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Burch, Zachary Priest, Daniel Mayhall, Greg Capehart, Bobby Thompson, Jeff Thompson and Rodney Adcock.
