Richard Paul

Richard J. Paul, 74, of McCurtain passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at home with his family.
He was born Feb. 10, 1942, in McCurtain to the late Steve and Mamie (Doris) Paul.
After graduating from McCurtain Public School, Richard joined the Army. He served his country in the Vietnam War.
He married Judy Pritchard on April 13, 1965. They were blessed with two children, Wesley and Janna.
Richard worked as a production supervisor in Ft. Smith, Ark., for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the yard, watching court TV, reading the Sunday paper and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; his son, Wesley Paul and wife, Amanda, of McCurtain; his grandchildren, Lacey Bangle and husband, Josh, of Oakland, Calif., Trent Kirkpatrick and fiancée, Bethany Dary, of Hulbert, Kari Fine and husband, Derek, of Hulbert, Colton Paul and wife, Hannah, of McCurtain, Wesley Paul and Chevy Paul of McCurtain; his great-grandchildren, Quinn Bangle, Ben, Khayden and Gage Kirkpatrick, Daniel, Kennen and Adylenn Fine, and Oliver Paul; his brothers, Buzzy and wife, Bea, of McCurtain, Theodore of McCurtain, Manuel and wife, Mary, of Spiro and one sister, Daisy Brookshire of Delano, Calif.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mamie; his daughter, Janna (Paul) Kirkpatrick; his grandson, Kyle Kirkpatrick; sisters, Christina Paul and Betty Boren; and one brother, Steven Paul Jr.
Graveside services were held Sept. 9 at Miners Cemetery in McCurtain with the Rev. Larry Kerns officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Henry Nixon, Johnnie McKay, Ricky Boren, Kenny Brand, Toby Wilson and Larry M. Dill. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.
