Raymond Bond

Raymond Ellis Bond of Stigler was born April 15, 1946, in Tulsa to Melvin and Edna (Werner) Bond. He passed away on Feb. 26, 2018, in Whitefield at the age of 71.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle VanDam and husband, Doug, of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Davis Dillingham, Hayden Dillingham, Cole Dillingham; one sister, Charlene Hill and husband, Jack, of Owasso; one brother, Morris Bond of Golden, Colo.; three nephews, Brandon Hill of Owasso, Cody Hill of Tulsa, Travis Hill of Tulsa; longtime partner, Sharon Patton of Stigler; her family, Shari Marcum and husband, Jim, of Stigler, Allie Knoy and husband, Allen, Gracie Bates, Lilyann Knoy, Reed Marcum.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents.
Ray grew up on a rocky and tree-covered hill near Rose. He graduated from Stigler High School, then from NSU in Tahlequah with a degree in biology. He taught high school in Tulsa for 14 years. He moved back to Stigler in 1984 to start his plumbing, electrical, and heat and air business. Ray was known for helping others and for his love of the outdoors. He had a close community of family and friends that he loved dearly. He was particularly fond of going to Grand Lake, his hunting dogs and gardening at his home on the river.
Come and go memorial service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Munn Center at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler. Refreshments will be provided.
