R.A. Mitchell

R.A. Mitchell of Quinton was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Mounds to Russell Ambrose and Dona (Sanders) Mitchell and passed away April 4, 2017, in Eufaula at the age of 91.
He is survived by two sons, Joe Mitchell of Quinton, and Steve Mitchell and wife, Rhonda of Quinton; one brother, T.J. Mitchell and wife, Patsy of Henryetta; three grandchildren, Christy Moody and husband, Jason of Jenks, Lorrie Dugan and husband, Tim of Canadian; and Stephanie Dickerson and husband, Chastin of Breaux Bridge, La.; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Molly Moody, Chance, Isaac and Mitchell Tanner, Chloe and C.J. Dickerson.
R.A. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Herma Jean Mitchell; and two great-grandsons, Cole Moody and Bentley James Tanner; five sisters, Lorene Withrow, Eldene Cunningham, Callie Murphy, Helen Tipton and Christine Critzer; and his parents.
He was a retired rancher and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all, he loved his family.
Graveside services were held April 8 at Quinton Cemetery with the Rev. George Mantooth officiating. Burial followed at Quinton City Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler. Military Honors were provided by Stigler VFW Post 4446.
