Pat Rose

Pat X. Rose was born in Tamaha on Nov. 1, 1925, to  Reverend Carlisle and Mary (Allen) Rose. He passed away on Feb. 26, 2019, in Westfield, Ind. at the age of 93.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Rose Thielen and husband, Steve, of Carmel, Ind.; one sister, Gayle Roberson and husband, Tommy Joe, of Keota; one granddaughter, Stephanie Thielen Eckerle and husband, Chris, of Indianapolis, Ind. and two great-granddaughters, Emma Elizabeth and Charlotte Rose Eckerle of Indianapolis, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Labie Lee (Scates) Rose; his granddaughter, Ashley Rose Thielen; his second wife, Jimmie Webb Rose; two sisters, Irene Eddings and Helen Welton; four brothers, Boyd Rose, James Rose, Jack Rose and Frank Rose and his parents, Reverend Carlisle and Mary Rose.

Pat lived his life with a passion for Christ. He read his Bible on a daily basis and wanted to ensure that all of his family and friends knew Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He was devoted to the First Baptist Church of Stigler. Pat was also devoted and loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his great granddaughters, Emma and Charlotte. They were the light of his life the past eight years. Pat was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables, as well as a great cook. Pat was also a good friend to many people. Whether he was delivering vegetables from his garden or having coffee with his early morning coffee shop crowd, many people enjoyed the time they spent with Pat and considered him a dear friend. Pat left an indelible mark of love on his friends and family and will be missed by many.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with the Rev. Daniel Milligan officiating. Interment followed at Garland Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were Dr. Steve Woodson, D.O., Jerry Eddings, Larry Eddings, Tommy Joe Roberson, Mike Scates and Steve Thielen.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Eddings, Mike Rose and Charles Roye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made In Memory of Pat Rose to the First Baptist Church in Stigler, P.O. Box 33, Stigler, Oklahoma 74462.
