Oral C. McGee

Oral C. McGee, 67, of McCurtain, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Washington Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Feb. 22, 1949, in Talihina to Perry and Nettie (Scraper) McGee.
Oral’s faith in God guided him throughout his life, recalling several times that only God could have saved and protected him. While in the Navy serving on the USS Forrestal for four years, he would see the world. He would never marry, but would always have a niece or nephew to share a life lesson with. He was an avid photographer, always loving to be behind the lens instead of in front of it.
Oral is survived by his three brothers, Charles McGee of Lower Burrell, Pa., Denver McGee of Highfill, Ark., and Edward McGee of Keystone, S.D.; one sister, Hattie Hendrix of New York, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Oral was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Nettie McGee; his brother, Jackie McGee; and his sister, Annabell Thompson.
Graveside services were held Jan. 23 at Miners Cemetery at McCurtain with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial followed under the direction of King & Shearwood of Stigler. Pallbearers were Jason McGee, Aaron Hendrix, Denver McGee and Edward McGee.
