Norman Falconer

Norman Ray Falconer was born in Keota on March 12, 1934, to Leard and Alva Falconer. He passed away in Dallas, Texas on Nov. 19, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Vaughn) Falconer, of the home; his children, Ralph T. Falconer and his wife, Debbie, Bruce Bear and Alaric Falconer and wife, Robyn; six grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Jessica, Elisa, Brooks and Cash; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Joyce Parker and husband, Hershel; and one brother, Ronald and wife, Sharon; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Johnnie; two brothers, David and Donald Falconer; and his son, Perry Ray Falconer.

After graduation from Keota High School, he attended Bacone College in Muskogee. In 1954, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in several different countries over the years. In 1967, he married Barbara Vaughn of Kinta. During this time he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He received his master’s degree from Auburn University. After 28 years he retired as a Lt. Col. from Tinker Air Force Base. He pursued a second career teaching in Midwest City. After retirement, he enjoyed working on antique cars and was an avid golfer. He was a deacon at the Episcopal Church.
