Neal Marks

Neal V. Marks of Stigler was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Stigler to Vital and Thelma Marks. He passed away on Sept. 20, 2018, in Stigler at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Merle Marks, of the home; daughter, Sara Strode and husband, Charles, of Stigler; granddaughters, Jessica Steelman and husband, Zach, of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Kristen Wagoner and husband, Scotty, of McAlester; great-granddaughters who affectionately called him “Papa Milk,” Karlee Rhea Wagoner and Lyncoln McKay Wagoner; brother, Neal Prentice, Jr. of Greenwood, Ark. and sister, Mary Etta Herron of Idabel.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Vital and Thelma Marks; one brother, Don Marks and his grandparents, Grover and Emma Prentice whom he loved dearly.

He was a member of Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church and was a 32° Master Mason.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Garland Cemetery in Stigler with the Rev. Delmon Eakle officiating.

Pallbearers were Allen Boyles, Tracey Oldham, Jerry Hays, Chris Browning, Troy Hendrix and Gary Kates.

Honorary pallbearers were Jack Spradling, Bob Howard, Bob Cariker and Mickey Jones.

Services were entrusted to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.
