Nadine Holder Read

A graveside memorial service was held May 29 for Nadine Holder Read at Hoyt Cemetery by her family.

Nadine was born May 15, 1932, to Rolf Holder and Ora Gideon Holder in Hoyt. She passed away March 10, 2021, in Blue Springs, Mo. Nadine was raised in Hoyt, attended grade school there and graduated from Stigler High School. She married Billy Jim Read of Kansas City, Mo. and lived in Kansas City and surrounding areas until her death.

Survivors included three sons, Frank Read of Liberty, Mo., Gary Read and wife, Julie, of Carrolton, Texas and Randy Read and wife, Makiko, of Japan; one stepson, Billy Read of Carrolton, Texas; one sister, Elaine Bigger and husband, Donald, of Hoyt; one aunt, Glo Carker of Jenks, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Mary Holder of Petaluma, Calif.; four grandsons, the Rev. Daniel Read and wife, Casey, of Magnolia, Ark., Tom Read and wife, Katie, Jeff Read of Carrolton, Texas and James Read of Japan; four granddaughters, Rachel Fullerton and husband, Thomas, of Kansas City, Mo., Dr. Kristin Coleman and husband, Christopher, of Stillwater, Okla., Kate Read of Carrolton, Texas and Lauren Read of Japan; four great-grandsons, Murphy Read and Tommie, Maddox and Bennet Fullerton; four great-granddaughters, Alyce Read and Clair, Edie and Lottie Coleman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Jim Read; one son, Gordon Read; two sisters, Helen Jean Wyatt and husband, Loyd, and Ramona Allen and husband, Ronnie; three brothers, Wendell, Reggie and Micky Holder and one sister-in-law, Jeanette Eddy Holder.
