Mildred Lee

Mildred Marie Lee, 88, a resident of the Stigler area, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at McAlester Regional Hospital.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Mallory Chapel, Stigler, with the Rev. David Bigger officiating.
Burial will follow at Stigler Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Brian Knowles, Scotty Smith, BJ Johnson, John Turrentine, James Bollinger and Don Webster.
Mildred was best known to her friends and relatives as Mib or Millie.
She was born at Rock Ford on March 26, 1928, to Albert and Maude (Robertson) Monroe. She grew up at Rock Ford where she went to school.
She graduated from Keota High School with the class of 1947.
She was married to Robert E. Lee on Aug. 17, 1947, and they initially made their home together in the Star community.
Mildred will be remembered for her love of fishing, cooking, crossword puzzles, gardening and visiting with her friends on the telephone. She loved working with cub scouts, and she always loved to help Rob work in the yard.
She retired from Douglas Aircraft (now Boeing) where she was an aircraft electrical technician. She was a longtime member of the Stigler Freewill Baptist Church.
Mildred is survived by one son, Robert (Bob) Lee and his wife Mary of McAlester; one brother, Billy D. Monroe and wife Leona of Keota; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. Lee; five brothers, Glyn, James, Doyle, Willard and J.C. Monroe; three sisters, Ella and Wilma Faye and LaVon Knowles; parents-in-law, William Washington Lee and Martha Viola (Palmer) Lee; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
