Meril Ross

Meril Lee Ross of Stigler was born Feb. 7, 1944, in LeFlore County to Elmer Lee and Maudie Thelma (Hill) Ross and passed away Oct. 2, 2018, in Stigler at the age of 74.

Meril is survived by one daughter, Renee Wininger and husband, Robert, of Wichita, Kan.; two sons,

Donnie Ross and wife, Brenda, of Stigler and Wayne Ross and wife, Lisa, of El Cajon, Calif.; two step-daughters, Ada Underhill and husband, Tony, of Checotah and Lisa Driskill and husband, Randy, of Yates Center, Kan.; four step-sons, Kenny Swart and wife, Lora, of Wichita, Kan., Nick Swart and wife, Doris, of Topeka, Kan., James Swart and wife, Kelly, of Wichita, Kan. and Donald Swart and wife, Joyce, of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Vernon Ross of Spiro, George Jack and wife, Mary, of Poteau and Ronnie Jack and wife, Johnnie, of Pocola; four sisters, Lennie Moore of Dallas, Texas, Donna Tucker and husband, Gary, of Kinta, Glenda Holland of Spiro and Linda Nason and husband, Danny, of Pocola; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Meril was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ross; one son, Meril O. Dean “Peanut” Ross; parents, Maudie Ross and Elmer Ross; father, Harrison Jack; sister, Shirley Hamon and brother, Lee Anthony Ross.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at the McCurtain Assembly of God

Church Fellowship Center. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory-Martin

Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
