Maxine Dolores Wendlandt

Maxine Dolores Wendlandt passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2019, in Broken Arrow at the age of 99 years. Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Leonard & Marker Funeral Home Chapel in Bixby. Interment followed at Bixby Cemetery. 

Maxine was born on Jan. 20, 1920, near Bixby, to Else and Gerald Cummings. She was a graduate of Bixby High School and then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Maxine married Harold Wendlandt, her high school sweetheart, on March 23, 1940. When Maxine was younger, she was active in the Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and Bible classes. She worked with the 4-H and extension clubs and loved hosting picnics and cookouts. In her later years, she loved playing dominos, working puzzles and enjoyed crafts of all kinds.

Maxine is survived by her three sons, Wayne, Dale, and Kelly Wendlandt. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold George Wendlandt, and son, Gary Wendlandt.
