Matt Shoemake

Matt Shoemake was born in Muskogee on Nov. 7, 1954, to Nip and Maggie (Miller) Shoemake. He passed from this life to his heavenly home on May 7, 2019, in Muskogee at the age of 64.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Delores of the home; one daughter, Bonita Carlon and husband, Lonnie, of Noble; one son, Erick Standifird and wife, Cathy, of Tulsa; one brother, Randy Shoemake and wife, Glenda, of Florence, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Christia Kelley, Trent Kelley, Destini Standifird, Angelica Standifird and Kendryk Standifird; four great-grandchildren, Caybreigh Carlon, Serenite Brown, Namyah Dean and Narielle Dean; one sister-in-law, Sue Ford and husband, Dan, of Stigler and numerous nieces and nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Nip and Maggie Shoemake and one brother, Roy Larke Shoemake.

Matt was a member of the Warner First Assembly of God Church. He was a Royal Ranger Commander, taught Sunday School and helped his wife with the Porum Assembly of God Youth Department.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Warner Assembly of Church Church with the Rev. Josh McElyea officiating. Burial followed at Coleman Cemetery in Porum under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Viewing was held at Malloy Chapel in Porum from 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019.

Pallbearers were Kendell Trickett, Joe Carey, Hagen Bush, Chad Thompson, Nathan Seyler, Billy Tom Bryce and Jeff Lee.

Honorary pallbearers were Dan Ford, Dearl Lynn, Donnie Benton, Dan Hughey and Clayton Corbell.
