Mary Thompson, 86, of Broken Arrow, passed away in Tulsa, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. She was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Hoyt to Cleo and Ruby (Phillips) Phillips.

Mary grew up in Stigler where she was educated. Then she became a homemaker when she met Clifton Beard in Quinton and they were married July 18, 1957, for 27 years. Later after his passing, she married Richard Thompson on June 29, 1996 and they were married 20 years until his passing. She was a strong Christian woman who always put God first. She loved her children, grandchildren and her large family. Everyone always knew they were welcome in her home. Her hobbies included gardening, flowers, sewing, knitting and going to church.

Mary is survived by her children and spouses, Darlene and Jerry Smith of Pensacola, Clifton Wayne and Patty Beard of Sperry, Charlotte and Curtis Mayhall of Inola, Helen and Dennis Capehart of Catoosa and Eva and Jackie Priest of Broken Arrow;  six sisters; two brothers, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Ruby Phillips; first husband, Clifton Beard; second husband, Richard Thompson; a son, Boyd Carl Lee Beard; two sisters; two brothers; a son-in-law and grandparents.

Funeral service was at 1 p.m,. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Sand Ridge Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Connie Thornton officiating. Eulogist was Otis Wayne Phillips. Speaker was Charles Phillips. Pallbearers included Daniel Mayhall, Rodney Adcock, Greg Capehart, Jon Beard, Beau Thompson and Dustin Delk. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Adcock, Dee Capehart, Zach Priest, Brock Priest and Damien Beard. 

Burial followed in Beaver Mountain Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
