Mary Franklin

Mary Louise Franklin, age 104, of Stigler went to be with the Lord on Nov. 27, 2018, at the Haskell County Nursing Center. Mary was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Iola, Kan. She was married to William Jesse Franklin on June 2, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo. 

Mary was the daughter of the late Walter Jesse and Bertha Crook. Mary attended the First Assembly of God in Stigler. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Franklin; two granddaughters, Katherine Suzanne Young and Carrie Elizabeth Van Dedyvere and one grandson, Larry Don Young. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, one daughter-in-law, Mary Franklin and one son-in-law, Robert Young. 

Mary is survived by sons, Dean Franklin (Georgia) of Stigler and David Franklin (Marlene) of Lees Summit, Mo. and daughters, RuthAnn Young of Fairlawn, Ohio and Rita Young (Jerry) of Platte City, Mo. Mary is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Mary served the Lord faithfully all of her life. She grew up in a Christian home and was the daughter of a preacher. She also married a preacher and moved from place to place during his 60 years of ministry of the gospel. Mary was loved by many friends and all of her family. 

Funeral services will be held at the King Shearwood chapel, Friday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. with Sherman Dix officiating. Burial will follow at San Bois cemetery under the direction of King Shearwood Funeral home.
