Mary Eakle

Mary Eakle, 87, of Stigler, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at Porta Caeli Hospice House, Tulsa. She was born March 19, 1931, at Gracemont to John and Louella (Bowers) Poole.

Mary grew up in Gracemont and Anadarko. She married Sam Greco in Anadarko and worked as a waitress for many years. She raised her six children and in 1975 Mary married Glendon Eakle. They moved to Enterprise in 1978. After Glendon died, she moved to Stigler. She loved her family and was devoted to her children and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mary loved her church and church family. She was a member of Longtown Full Gospel Church.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Johnny Greco of Chickasha, Marty Greco and wife, Penny, of Stigler and Dana Greco and wife, Teresa, of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren, Derrick Greco and companion Christen Holden, Ricky Pierce, Sherry Layman, Johnny Brittle, Forrest Greco, Tony Greco, Johnny Greco II, Sami Greco, Jairus Greco, Cristina Greco, Chris Greco and Jeremy Greco; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two cousins, Edna Smith of Oklahoma City and Don Higgins of McAlester; two nieces, Diane Riggs and Debbie (Riggs) Myers.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louella Poole; her two husbands, Glendon Eakle and Sam Greco; her daughter, Melita Heltzel; two sons, Sammy Greco and Anthony Greco; two sisters, Vera Fletcher and Kathy Riggs and a brother, Thomas Poole.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dorothy French officiating. Pallbearers included Marty Greco, Johnny Greco, Dana Greco, Jairus Greco, Jeremy Greco and Chris Greco.

Burial followed to West Liberty Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
