Marvin C. Amen

Marvin C. Amen, 85 years old, was born May 23, 1935, to Joseph and Vera Amen in California. He passed away March 25, 2021, in his home in Keota, Okla. with his family. He was married to Barbara L. Amen, for 63 joyous, wonderful years.

Marvin is and was a proud loving father of five children and two dogs, Speck 1 and Speck 2; two daughters, Wanda Amen and David Butcher of McCurtain, Okla. and Vera Griffith and James Welch of Keota, Okla.; and three sons, George Amen of the home, Marvin L. Amen of Keota, Okla. and Joe and Melissa Amen of Porum, Okla. He was a loving brother of three brothers, one sister and an uncle of many. Marvin was also a wonderful, loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren, Daniel Amen, Felicia Amen, Pearl and Jessie Burt, Marvin J.M. and Kayla Amen, George and Ashley Griffith, Dusty Welch, Levi and Imani Welch, Tammy and Bosco Pope, Brandon Amen, Salinda and Charles Davis, Caitlyn Amen, Micheal Smith, Matthew Smith, Collean Amen, Vera and Derick Schexnayder, Joey and Bethany, Clowey, Faith and Jimbo Amen. Marvin was also very proud to be a great-grandfather of 53 great-grandchildren.

In his earlier years he was a biker for the Hells Angels. He also worked as a Navy shipyard worker and a security guard, but for the most part of his career, he was a dairyman.

Marvin enjoyed being with his loved ones and as well as his friends. He also loved pulling pranks and jokes on everyone. His biggest love was spending every moment with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; his mother and father, Joseph and Vera Amen; three brothers; a granddaughter, Collean Amen (AKA) CJ; and his dog, Speck 1.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Honorary pallbearers were James Welch, Levi Welch, Marvin Amen, George Griffith, Dusty Welch, Bosco Pope, Daniel Amen, Derick Schexnayder and Joey Amen.

Cremation was under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
