Marlin Baker

Marlin “Rabbit” Elliott Baker was born in Talihina on Sept. 17, 1956, to Aryon and Ramona Baker. He passed away in McCurtain on May 26, 2019, at the age of 62.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather Seaton and husband, Bobby, of Stigler and Stacey Lewis and husband, Dale, of Stigler; one son, Mike Wadley of Fayetteville, Ark.; his mother, Ramona Baker of McCurtain; six sisters, Michelle Lowe and husband, Donny, of McCurtain, Cheryl DeRamo and husband, Shane, of McCurtain, Pooh Edwards and husband, Bobby, of Stigler, Stephanie Wingfield and husband, Robert, of McCurtain, JoAnn Baker and David Gill of McCurtain and Tina Baker of Arkoma; two brothers, Jeff Baker and wife, Sherrie, of Muskogee and Aryon Baker and wife, Lynne, of Nephi, Utah; grandkids, Alex Dixon, Brylee Lewis, Karma Wadley and Kristin Seaton and one sister-in-law, Shelly Baker of Stigler.

Rabbit was preceded in death by his father, Aryon Baker; his brothers, Ricky and Terry Baker and his grandson, Tristen Dixon.

Rabbit graduated from McCurtain High School in 1974. He worked in the oil fields most of his life. He loved cruising around and spending time with friends and family. He especially loved spending quality time with his granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Eastwood Assembly of God Church of Stigler with the Rev. Doyle Baker and the Rev. Howard Orr officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Springs Cemetery in McCurtain under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.

Pallbearers include Danny Cox, Jeromey Parker, Robert Long, Kelly Madewell, Robert Wingfield and Gary Hunter. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry McGuiness, Donny Lowe, David Gill, Shane DeRamo, Bobby Edwards, Bradley Lowe, Jeff Baker and Aryon Baker.
