Marlene Vander Schans

Marlene “Martie” K (Lindstedt) Vander Schans of Whitefield was born in Dover, N.J. on April 9, 1950, to Charles and Ellen (Jones) Lindstedt. Marlene passed away on Dec. 27, 2018, at her home in Whitefield.

She is survived by husband, Bill Vander Schans of Whitefield; three sons, Matthew Vander Schans of Whitefield, Thomas Vander Schans of Oklahoma City and David Vander Schans of Whitefield; one sister, Sharon Baxter and husband, John, of Southern New Jersey; five grandchildren, Sophia, Alex, Breanna, Cody and Connor Vander Schans; numerous nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Clarence Arthur and wife, Beverly, of Elgin, Miss.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ellen Lindstedt.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Mallory Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow at Whitefield Cemetery in Whitefield.
