Luther Lowe

Luther Robert Lowe was born in Keota, Okla. on Oct. 14, 1934, to Dalton and Eathiel (Thomas) Lowe. He passed away in Stigler, Okla. on Feb. 17, 2021, at the age of 86.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Hunter and husband, Terry, of McCurtain, Okla. Jenine Love and husband, Jim, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Janice Drake of Broken Arrow, Okla., Cynthia Hopkins and husband, Michael, of Osage Beach, Mo., Donnie Lowe and wife, Michelle, of McCurtain, Okla., Don Lowe and fianceé, Sandy, of Muldrow, Okla. and James Lowe and wife, Carrie, of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Edna Lou Peters and husband, Pete, of Van Buren, Ark.; 27 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Eathiel Lowe; one son, John Lowe; one grandson, Michael Lowe; his brothers, Dempsey Lowe, L.B. Lowe and Chester Lowe; and his sisters, Lora Tabor and Priscilla Frix.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 21. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Victory Worship Center in Keota with the Rev. Charlie Kilgore, the Rev. Brandon Mooneyham and the Rev. Heath Cole officiating. Interment followed at Keota City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were RC Thomas, Terry Thomas, Earl Thomas, Doug Blaylock, Michael Blaylock and Patrik Lovell.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Bond, Curtis Nixon, Gary Hunter, Paul Orr, Justin Brassfield, Brad Corbit and Ryan Petty.
