Lula Sandlin

Lula Mae Sandlin (Cothran) was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Tuttle, to Floyd and Ollie Cothran. She was married Jan. 24, 1949, to Paul Houston Sandlin, and lived in Terra Bella, Calif. They moved to Keota in 1989. Lula Mae left us on March 13, 2020, at the age of 88.
She is survived by, her children, Lorretta Gale Strickland and husband, Don, of New Caney, Texas and Houston Wayne Sandlin of Keota; two grandchildren, Shannon Strickland of New Caney, Texas and Donald Strickland Jr. of Oregon; Five great-grandchildren, Samantha Strickland, Quinton Strickland and wife, Kaitlyn, Brittney Strickland, Adam Schutz and Vincent Strickland; two great-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Foland.
Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Houston Sandlin; one daughter, Judy Sharon Robertson; one grandson, Paul Phillips; her parents, Floyd and Ollie Cothran; and her sister, Laveda Theman.
Lula loved music and dancing. She loved to put a smile on her friends’ and family’s faces.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Mallory Chapel in Keota.
