Lula Pearson

Lula May Pearson of Stigler, was born April 23, 1922, in Stigler, to Frank and Lillie Reid Peevyhouse and passed away Nov. 21, 2018, in Stigler at the age of 96.

She is survived by three daughters, Arnevia Weatherly of Inola, Lyvonia Alexander of Whitefield and Marshia Duvall and husband, Don, of Enterprise; two sons, Wade Pearson and wife, Carroll, of Stigler and Darrel Pearson and wife, Cindy, of Greenwood, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-granchildren and three on the way; sisters, Wanda Fay Hall of Bakersfield, Calif., Linnie Stubblefield of Stigler and Anna Lou Pugh of Kinta; brothers, Buford Peevyhouse of Great Bend, Kan., James Peevyhouse, Muscota, Kan. and Houston Peevyhouse of Stigler; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillie Peevyhouse; husband, Arthur Pearson; one daughter, Barbara Combs; grandchildren, Bengy Alexander, Leonard Combs and Jamie Pearson; three great-grandchildren, Justin Pearson, Mayson McMillan and baby McMillan; one great-great-grandchild, Hoyt Rayne Melton; brothers, Robert Peevyhouse, Melvin Peevyhouse and Willie Peevyhouse and sisters, Julia Carlisle and Myrtle Bowen.

She grew up in the Rocky Ridge community and attended school and church there. Lula married Arthur Pearson on Oct. 23, 2018, and together raised six children. She was an avid gardener, loved sewing, music and singing. She served as the family doctor, lawyer, referee, counselor, cook and seamstress.

Lula had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Mallory Chapel with Bro. Ken Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
