Louise Sampson

Louise Sampson, 78, of Jonesboro, Ark. passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was born Jan. 17, 1940, in Jonesboro, Ark., to James William and Ozora Margarett Jones Caldwell. Louise owned and operated a hair salon near Porum. She attended Center Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ark., and Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Stigler. She enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul Sampson in 1998; three brothers, Johnnie Richard Caldwell, James Howard Caldwell and Jimmy Gene Caldwell; two sisters, Mary Helen Caldwell Hisel and Dora Lee Caldwell Whitaker; and grandson, Tommy Sampson, Jr.

Survivors include husband, Albert Upton; stepsons, Tommy Sampson, Sr., Jimmy Upton, Keith Upton and Robert Upton; daughters-in-law, Mary Sampson, Lisa Upton and Karan Gilliand; grandchildren, Terry (Arden) Sampson, Tobey Sampson, Jason (Lyanna) Upton, Daniel (Tina) Upton, Jessica Upton, Stephen (Debbie) Upton, John Upton, Kenneth Upton, Jennifer Upton, Sarah (Jazz) Paramore, David Upton, Alitra Upton, and Alexander Upton; great-grandchildren, Erica Sampson, Emily Sampson, Synjin Sampson, Tyler Sampson, Hailey Sampson, William Upton, Aubrey Turnage, Jaden Reynolds, Keghan Upton, McKenzie Upton, Tracy Upton, Alexander Upton and Anastasia Upton.

Funeral services were Friday, July 13, 2018, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Pastor John Travis officiating.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. until time of service.

There was a second funeral service on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10 a.m., at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, 204 NE F St., Stigler. Burial followed at Miners Cemetery, McCurtain with Pastor John Travis officiating.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. until time of service at Mallory Chapel in Stigler.
