Louis Fioretti Jr.

Louis Fioretti was born on July 24, 1933, in Stigler.  He passed away in Stigler, on Dec. 17, 2019, at the age of 86.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Opal Fioretti and twin brothers, Ray and Fay Fioretti.  

Louis moved to Stigler in 1949 and graduated from Stigler High School in May 1951. Louis attended Oklahoma A&M college, now Oklahoma State University, for four years and graduated in May 1955 with a bachelor of science degree with a major in commerce accounting. He received a second lieutenant commission in the US Army Signal Corps as well. Louis served two years as a field radio officer at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. before going to the Army Aviation School where he received his silver wings in Oct. 1957. Louis served on active duty at Ft. Hood, Texas and Ft. Carson, Colorado until his discharge in March 1960. Louis served in the Army Reserve as a fixed wing and rotary wing aviator with over 20 years of accredited service. He obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Louis married Sue Carole Sullivan on Feb. 7, 1959, while still on active duty. Louis is survived by his wife of 60 years; three children, Heather Fenton, Nina Fioretti and Steven Fioretti, and wife, Julie, all of Stigler, his grandchildren, Nichole Fioretti Chhikara and husband, Sid, Justin Fenton, Tristan Fioretti, Chet Fenton, Gibson McAlvain, Remington Fioretti, and Addison Fioretti; and great-grandchildren, Avery Fenton, Jayce Fenton, Rilee Jo Fenton and Archer Chhikara.  

Louis received his CPA certificate in 1968 and moved from Dallas, Texas to Stigler where he started his accounting practice. His three children graduated from Stigler schools. All three graduated from college. Heather received a Ph.D. in nursing, Nina a bachelor in psychology and accounting, and Steven a bachelor in law enforcement.

Louis’s hobby was flying. After his military flying was over, he joined the Civil Air Patrol in 1982 and flew as a mission pilot for 13 years. While in the Civil Air Patrol, he obtained his Federal Aviation Flight Instructor Certificate. Louis practiced his profession until his death.

Louis served as treasurer of the First United Methodist Church for over 40 years. He also served on the Freedom House Board of Directors as treasurer and independent school of treasurer of many Haskell County School Districts at various times. He also served as a scout master for many years.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Hill officiating.
